Robert Gleason has served Princeton as co-chair of the first Every Voice conference, chair of the Committee to Nominate Alumni Trustees, a three-term member of the Executive Committee of the Alumni Council, co-chair of two alumni committees (LGBT Alumni Affairs and Volunteer Pipeline), advisory board member of the LGBTQIA Oral History Project and Annual Giving participation co-chair for his 25th, 30th and 35th reunions. He currently chairs the San Diego County Lodging Association, the Arts Advisory Committee for San Diego International Airport and the Rady Children’s Hospital Center for Gender-Affirming Care Family Advisory Council, as well as serving on the California Tourism Commission, as the founding supervising attorney of the University of San Diego School of Law transgender legal clinic and on a variety of advisory boards. Previously, Gleason was chair of the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Francis Parker School, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, World Trade Center San Diego, the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, the San Diego LGBT Community Center and the San Diego LGBT Community Leadership Council; vice chair of the Old Globe Theatre and LGBTQ Victory Fund; and a lecturer in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at San Diego State University. While at Princeton, he was heavily involved in theater and was a member of Terrace Club. Gleason and his husband, Marc Matys, are the fathers of two teenage boys.
