Nancy Newman, the LeoDelle Jolley Chair of Ophthalmology, has worked at the Emory University School of Medicine for 35 years. She has over 600 publications, including scientific articles, book chapters and books, and has received many professional teaching and service awards nationally. In 1992, she was the first woman elected as an alumni trustee to the Princeton Board of Trustees; and was then appointed as a charter trustee from 1998 to 2008, and is currently a trustee emerita. She also served as president of the Princeton Alumni Association. At Princeton, Nancy was in the band and Triangle, and still loves to do a little song and dance. She is married to Valerie Biousse (also a neuro-ophthalmologist), with whom she has partnered for more than 28 years. Their daughter, Anna, is pursuing her Ph.D. in economics.
