Princeton has had a continued impact on Monica’s life since she graduated in 1989. She is the current president of the Alumni Association and chair of the Alumni Council. Previously, she led the Committee to Nominate Alumni Trustees. Since graduation, Monica has remained an active alumna, serving as an Annual Giving solicitor and class agent for her 15th Reunion. From 1998 to 2004, Monica worked on staff in the University’s Office of Development, during which time she helped launch Women in Leadership to engage Princeton alumnae, and Connect, an outreach to Princeton’s black alumni; her husband, John Thompson III ’88, coached the Tiger men’s basketball program. After relocating to the Washington, D.C. area, Monica remained involved at Princeton, serving on the Aspire Campaign executive committee. She is a lifetime member of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni (ABPA) and was awarded the ABPA Alumni Service Award in 2011. When not volunteering for Princeton, Monica serves on the boards of St. Albans School and Washington Jesuit Academy, both in Washington, D.C. Her daughter Morgan is a member of the Class of 2020.
