Mags Dillon became executive director of Princeton in Asia (PiA), a 125-year old organization that promotes understanding between the United States and Asia through immersive fellowships, in 2013 and has worked with stakeholders in 25 countries and regions across Asia during his tenure. Previously, he was a PiA Fellow at the Lao Rugby Federation, helping to develop and promote rugby in Laos with a focus on girls and young women in rural communities. As a member of the executive committee and as chair of the women’s rugby committee for the Asia Rugby Football Union Council, he advocated for the interests of emerging rugby nations and women in rugby within the regional governing body of the sport. Prior to PiA, he conducted research in Germany through a fellowship with the German Academic Exchange Service and taught English and American culture on a teaching fellowship through the Fulbright Commission in Austria. Dillon serves on the board of trustees of Princeton-in-Beijing and on the Princeton Rugby Endowment board of governors, which he chaired from 2015 to 2020. After playing rugby at Princeton and in Laos, he has traded boots for skates and is part of Team Trans, an international collective of trans and non-binary hockey players.
