Jason Klugman leads the college preparation area within Princeton’s Emma Bloomberg Center for Access and Opportunity, providing leadership for the Princeton University Preparatory Program (PUPP) and oversight of the Princeton Summer Journalism Program. He is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Greater Trenton College Access Network. He has broad expertise in college access and success, urban education and teacher preparation. Klugman came to Princeton in 2004 to lead PUPP and also served as a lecturer and program associate in Princeton’s Program in Teacher Preparation from 2004 to 2017. He occasionally teaches “Ethnography of Schools and Schooling” in Princeton’s Department of Anthropology and he serves as an advisor to the Education Cohort of the Service Focus program in Princeton’s Pace Center for Civic Engagement. An avid swimmer, he is an Academic-Athletic Fellow for the Princeton’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. He spent six years as a co-chair of Princeton’s LGBT Task Force, the precursor to today’s LGBT Employee Resource Group. From 2001 to 2004, he was a high school history teacher at West Philadelphia High School and a leader in that school’s college and career guidance team.
