Scientist, Advocate, Educator
Christina “Cass” Kim (they/them) is the president of Out in STEM (oSTEM) — Princeton’s affinity group for LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty in STEM — and founder of the current iteration of the organization. They have previously served as an LGBT peer educator for the Gender + Sexuality Resource Center and are currently a member of chemical and biological engineering’s graduate student committee, where they also coordinated a peer mentorship program for first year Ph.D. students in the department. Prior to coming to Princeton, they earned their undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where they also served as treasurer for Out in STEM. After Princeton, Kim intends to continue to advocate for queer and trans people in STEM and potentially pursue a career in higher education.
