August Roberts (they/them) is a senior studying English and Gender and Sexuality Studies, focusing on queer librarianship and information justice. They are in their second year as vice president of the Pride Alliance and as facilitator for Queer and Disabled, a group they founded to support their fellow queer and disabled/neurodivergent students. This is also their third year as co-facilitator for Ace/Aro Space, a group for asexual and/or aromantic students; they formerly led Gender Group, a group for trans and non-binary students. Roberts’s previous independent research project focused on performances of asexuality in improvised performances. Additionally, they spent the past summer working to revitalize the Gender + Sexuality Resource Center’s library, acquiring hundreds of new books and creating a complete catalog for students to explore issues of race, gender, sexuality and other intersectionalities. After graduating, Roberts intends to continue working in libraries and get a master’s degree in library and information science.
