passion, poetry and possibility

As a seasoned board level strategic advisor and executive breakthrough leadership coach, Anca van Assendelft works with leaders who are up to something big — and those who are ready to soar and scale their business. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and scale-ups with a focus on connecting the dots between aspirational vision and operational realities.

You can believe van Assendelft when she says, “Yes, you can!” At 16, she entered Princeton from the Netherlands, where she was the youngest black belt in judo, completed a race on crutches and eventually trained with current and ex-Navy Seals to experience the next level of extraordinary and inspired leadership — cultivating clarity, intuition, aligned action and flow. “In flow” is also how van Assendelft describes writing poetry, which she calls “catching words.” Mostly it occurs in English, words that simply tumble forth, often on napkins or paper scraps. Van Assendelft has been “catching those words” since 1978, but has only recently come out of the “poetry closet.” She holds poetry “as a portal to the soul with the power to transport us to another time and place” — and is curious about sharing this with fellow human spirits embodied on this earthly round.
