Lia Bostian is a licensed clinical professional counselor with a private practice in Rockville, Maryland. Her practice focuses on the LGBTQ+ community, particularly around issues relating to gender. Bostian is a past president of the Maryland Counseling Association’s division pertaining to LGBTQ+ matters, the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE-MD). She frequently speaks and conducts workshops on LGBTQ+ topics. Bostian has two grown children. She came out as a lesbian at age 50 and now has been happily married to her wife, Sandy, for 13 years. They live in Montgomery Village, Maryland, along with their dog, a cavapom named Blanche. She enjoys water walking, British murder mysteries and silent retreats. She reluctantly accompanies her wife camping in their RV.
