Community driven artist
Sam Gravitte is an actor and writer based in New York City. A varsity lacrosse player, residential college adviser and a cappelite as an undergrad, Gravitte’s professional theater credits include playing Fiyero in the smash hit musical “Wicked” on Broadway when the show reopened after Broadway’s pandemic hiatus. Other shows include “Beautiful,” “Almost Famous,” “White Rose,” and “Sweeney Todd,” along with various workshops and developmental labs with some of the industry’s leading talents. He is a producer of Pride Plays, a developmental program and festival with the mission to celebrate and platform queer works, introduce new voices to the theatrical ecosystem and support the next generation of LGBTQ+ artists. Gravitte’s play, “Hurricane,” was a 2024 semifinalist at the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. His other work is published with Broadway Licensing. As a vocalist, he has headlined shows at the 92nd Street Y, Birdland Jazz Club, Provincetown, the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and more. He has taught at schools around the country, including the Best Old Place of All, Princeton. He is a Monson Arts Award recipient and lifetime member of the Actors Studio.
