Storyteller, Human Centered Leader, Coach
Ara Tucker oversees Flatiron Health’s employee experience — including attracting, retaining and developing a diverse and inclusive team; evolving Flatiron’s hybrid culture to enhance learning and speed; and guiding the enterprise strategy to amplify employee performance and impact. She has worked in a variety of industries including, legal, finance, higher education, media/entertainment, technology and healthcare. She has led global and diverse cross-functional teams focused on the end-to-end employee journey; diversity, equity and inclusion; as well as academic, administrative and budgetary planning. Prior to joining Flatiron, Tucker was chief people officer at Cityblock Health, and she played a formative role scaling talent, culture and employee experience at Audible. As a published author and thought leader, she leverages her storytelling and coaching skills to help individuals create and refine compelling and authentic narratives to optimize their personal brands and effectiveness. Tucker also maintains an active creative writing and visual arts practice focused on the intersection of race, class, gender, sexual orientation as well as intergenerational memory and trauma with a particular interest in how these intersections warp daily life. She currently serves as chair of the audit committee as well as a member of the executive and building committees for the MoMA PS1 board of directors. Tucker is married to Hilary Harkness and they split their time between Brooklyn and Bernardsville, New Jersey.
